October. 1905 to March 1915.- Police Dept. Indian Interpreter,
I was highly commended for my work by the Inspecting Superintendents at almost every quarterly inspection. On my transfer to the Royal Observatory I was given preference over the other well educated candidates by His Excellency the Governor (then late Sir Henry
May) in his approval of the post.
March 1915 - April 1927.- Clerical Assistant to D.R.O. Though
the title of the post was so named, yet during the tour of my service in this department I was often called upon to do my senior European officers' work of scientific and technical responsibility, especially during the time of Great War, and when some of the

During this period I served in various capacities.
Booking Clerk's duties for 2 or 3 months, and then taking over the duties of Vote Service Ledger Clerk from late Capt. Hosford of the Senior Clerical and
Accounting Staff.
1928 - 1935 - Senior Clerk in Charge of one of the Accounts Section, where all booking, final accounting, paylisting and various returns are prepared including the allotment Vouchers System, together with various important responsibilities of inter-departmental correspondence with A.D.P.Ws. and Executive Engineers. From 1935, I have been generally in charge of both sections in the Account sub-department directly responsible to Supt. A. & S.
In 1936 on Commencement of Centralization of Stores
and having received Complaints regarding delay in the clearance of transactions between other departments,
the Supt. A. & S. detailed me as a supervisor of
